Strathmore University signs partnership with PSA to collaborate on health and humanitarian supply chains

Strathmore Business School (SBS), a school within Strathmore University (SU) in Nairobi, Kenya, has signed a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pamela Steele Associates (PSA), to formalise joint research, training and consultancy on health and humanitarian supply chains in LMIC’s.

The partnership, which was signed on February 21, 2018, at Strathmore Business School is aimed at reducing the supply chain skills gap in Kenya’s health and humanitarian sector. The arrangement represents a show of confidence by SU in PSA’s training capabilities, consultancy and research expertise in health and humanitarian supply chain management.

SBS is a premier business school in Kenya offering high quality MBA and other executive management programmes. Its mission is to provide service to society through developing virtuous leaders by providing world-class executive management education in a local setting.

The MoU is a general framework for PSA-SBS collaboration in four critical areas.

  • Health supply chain assessments
  • Capacity Development of health and humanitarian supply chains through training and health systems strengthening
  • Health supply system performance evaluation and Impact assessments
  • Health supply chain operational research

In effect, the partnership with SBS not only confirms PSA’s status as international experts of repute in supply chain management in the health and humanitarian sectors, but firmly establishes the company as a vital collaborative partner.

Present at the MoU signing ceremony was Prof. Gilbert Kokwaro (Director, Institute of Healthcare Management, SBS), John Mwai (Senior Manager, SBS), Sylvia Anyika (Project Manager, SBS), Pamela Steele (CEO, PSA), Jane Muyundo (Regional Representative for H&EA,PSA) and Yukabeth Otieno (Training Officer, PSA).
