What is a needs assessment
A needs assessment analyzes the current performance of your supply chain system (as-is state) and compares it to the desired performance (to-be state). It may also be referred to as ‘bottleneck analysis’ or ‘gap analysis’.
The supply chain needs assessment report gives you a holistic view of your supply chain system, documenting its strengths and weaknesses, bottlenecks, and gaps.
Why conduct a needs assessment
A needs assessment can provide a solid foundation for your supply chain transformation, or capacity development, programme. It provides credible evidence supported by data to present to stakeholders to advocate a planned intervention.
Our methodology
We frame the objectives of the exercise in collaboration with you, conduct a desk review, collect data from multiple sources, analyse the data, and draw our conclusions. Our analysis probes the root causes of problems we find to identify underlying weaknesses in the system that need to be addressed. The results are presented to you in a needs assessment report.
We also develop your capacity to be able to use different tools and methodologies such as the USAID NSCA 2.0 to analyse your supply chain.
